We are overjoyed to share that our innovative Jiko-Kul Electric Pressure Cooker (EPC) earned us first place at the YES! On the Road Entrepreneurs Launch Pad held on Friday, 11th October 2024, at Kenyatta University, Nairobi.
This prestigious event, organized by the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) and EnergyNet Ltd., brought together the brightest minds in energy innovation. As part of this platform, we had the privilege to showcase our clean cooking solution tailored for institutions, addressing the challenges of energy efficiency, sustainability, and affordability.
Our CEO, Mercy Kyalo, confidently pitched the Jiko-Kul EPC, highlighting its potential to transform institutional cooking by reducing energy consumption and environmental impact. This milestone was further made possible through our nomination by the Kenya Climate Innovation Center (KCIC), underscoring our leadership in advancing Kenya’s clean energy agenda.
The Jiko-Kul EPC embodies our dedication to offering clean, efficient cooking technologies that replace traditional methods, improving both environmental and community health. We believe that clean energy should be accessible and affordable for everyone. That’s why our solutions are designed to deliver high-quality performance at a price point that empowers institutions to embrace sustainability without compromising on quality.
The event was an inspiring mix of workshops and mentoring sessions led by industry pioneers such as Village Capital, equipping young entrepreneurs with practical tools for success in the energy sector. The competition saw eleven promising innovators competing in two categories:
- Data & Digitization Solutions
- Fit-for-Purpose Electrical Appliances
We are humbled to have been selected as winners in the Fit-for-Purpose Electrical Appliances category alongside Brian Kinyua Nyambura of Hydro Soda Electric, in the Data & Digitization Solutions category, each receiving a $5,500 grant to help scale our ventures and further our impact.
We extend heartfelt thanks to the esteemed judging panel for recognizing the value of our work. We also salute our fellow entrepreneurs who shared their groundbreaking ideas during the event, proving that Kenya is at the forefront of energy innovation.
Looking ahead, Feion Green Ventures is dedicated to leveraging this recognition to scale the Jiko-Kul EPC, enabling institutions across Kenya and beyond to embrace cleaner, more efficient cooking methods. This is not just a win for our team but a step forward for a sustainable future.
