About Us

About the Company

Feion Green Ventures is a clean energy leader providing sustainable cooking solutions for African institutions. We eliminate firewood dependence with efficient, high-capacity electric pressure cookers designed for schools, hospitals, and large-scale kitchens.
Our flagship Jiko-Kul Electric Pressure Cooker (EPC) operates on solar and grid power, delivering a cleaner, faster, and more cost-effective alternative to traditional methods. By reducing fuel costs, improving efficiency, and removing harmful emissions, we help institutions achieve sustainability while maintaining reliable performance.
We partner with forward-thinking organizations to drive Africa’s transition to modern, sustainable cooking ensuring better outcomes for communities and the environment.

Our Vision

We envision a future where every institution in Africa, from
schools to healthcare facilities, can access clean, efficient, and affordable cooking technologies. Over the next five years, Feion Green Ventures aims to become a leader in sustainable cooking solutions in developing nations, championing innovation, social impact, and environmental sustainability. Our goal is to empower communities to thrive through sustainable energy solutions and contribute to global environmental stewardship.

Our Mission

Our mission is to eliminate institutional reliance on
firewood by delivering high-capacity, affordable, and
locally manufactured clean cooking solutions.
Through our Jiko-Kul EPC and innovative payment models,
we make clean cooking accessible to
institutions, promoting environmental sustainability,
reducing deforestation, and supporting healthier communities.

Our Theory of Change

Our theory of change is a blueprint for systemic impact, where clean cooking becomes a catalyst for social progress, economic resilience, and environmental restoration..

Here’s how our impact unfolds:

Problem Identification: Schools and institutions face high costs, health hazards, and environmental damage due to firewood dependency.
Innovative Solution: Feion’s Jiko-Kul EPC provides a viable alternative that integrates solar and electric power, cutting firewood use by up to 100% and reducing operational costs by up to 50%.
Implementation and Adoption: By offering flexible payment models such as lease-to-own and pay-as-you-cook, Feion lowers the financial barriers for institutions, enabling a gradual, sustainable transition to clean energy.
Immediate Impact: Schools and institutions reduce firewood costs, cooking times, and improve indoor air quality, directly impacting both financial savings and health outcomes.
Long-Term Change: As institutions adopt clean cooking technologies at scale, we foresee reduced deforestation, improved public health, and strengthened local economies, creating a sustainable ecosystem.

Feion Green Ventures isn’t just part of the clean energy transition – we’re accelerating it.
Every Jiko-Kul EPC deployed delivers immediate environmental relief and lasting social transformation, directly advancing global sustainability goals.
Cleaner kitchens today, a healthier Africa tomorrow.

Our Impact

Environmental Impact

The Jiko-Kul EPC reduces firewood consumption in schools by up to 100%, preserving thousands of trees annually and significantly cutting carbon emissions. This contributes directly to reducing deforestation and climate change while conserving local biodiversity.

Health Impact

By eliminating the need for traditional firewood stoves, we help improve indoor air quality in institutional kitchens, reducing exposure to harmful smoke and lowering the risk of respiratory and cardiovascular illnesses for kitchen staff and students.

Financial Impact

Institutions save up to 70% on cooking costs by switching to the Jiko-Kul EPC. The time saved in cooking up to 80% also translates to more time for educational activities, directly benefiting students and staff. Additionally, the savings on fuel costs can be reallocated to other pressing institutional needs.

Community Empowerment

Our flexible lease-to-own and pay-as-you-cook models eliminate upfront cost barriers for institutions, while our local technician training programs create jobs and foster sustainable economic growth within the community.

Our Milestones

2022: Foundational Research & Problem Discovery

Identified the critical need for clean, cost-saving solutions in Kenyan institutional kitchens. Key challenges included exorbitant fuel costs, inefficient cooking times, and the environmental impact of deforestation.

2023: Prototype Development & Field Validation

Developed and field-tested our first functional prototype with early-adopter partners. This crucial phase allowed us to gather real-world feedback and prove the core technology’s viability in active kitchen environments.

2024: MVP Testing & Product Refinement

Successfully concluded our Minimum Viable Product (MVP) phase, refining the product based on user feedback. This iterative process ensured the final design was robust, user-friendly, and perfectly tailored to market needs.

2025: Market Launch & Technological Advancement

Launched full commercial rollout and integrated advanced solar-powered functionality. This key innovation future-proofs our solution, offering unparalleled energy independence and operational savings to our clients.

Recognitions & Awards

YES! On the Road Launch Pad Win: Winner of the Entrepreneurs Launch Pad sponsored by GEAPP and EnergyNet Ltd. This award acknowledges the innovative potential of our Jiko-Kul Electric Pressure Cooker (EPC) in providing clean and efficient cooking for institutions.
Strategic KCIC Partnership: Proudly incubated by the Kenya Climate Innovation Center (KCIC) under their CleanTech program. KCIC has been instrumental in supporting the development, testing, and local production of our Jiko-Kul cookers.
Youth4Climate Award 2024: Our CEO, Mercy Kyalo, was honored in Turin, Italy, under the Sustainable Energy theme. This award from UNDP and the Italian Ministry of Environment recognizes our commitment to tackling environmental and health challenges through clean cooking.
PREO Grant Awardee 2024: Selected as 1 of 22 winners from 613 applications across Sub-Saharan Africa for the Powering Renewable Energy Opportunities (PREO) programme. This grant and 18 months of tailored support will accelerate our Cooking-as-a-Service (CaaS) model to scale climate action in institutions.
EEP Africa: We’ve received support from EEP Africa to showcase our Cooking as a Service model for institutions, enabling schools to adopt our Jiko Institutional EPC solution.

Pilot Programs and Impact

Our pilot programs have demonstrated the Jiko-Kul EPC’s potential to transform institutional cooking in Kenya. Testing at St. Patrick’s Mutune Secondary School showed:

75% reduction in cooking time.
70% savings in operational costs compared to firewood use.
Significant environmental benefits by lowering firewood demand, preserving trees, and reducing indoor smoke exposure for kitchen staff.

Our continued partnership with MECS(Modern Energy Cooking Services) & KPLC(Kenya Power & Lighting Company) in testing e-cooking devices has allowed us to refine our products and improve their functionality, ensuring they meet the high demands of institutional use.
